Our first Oida! festival, celebrating the best of FLINTA talent from Kent and London.
Designed to engage with new and old friends alike, as well as providing plenty of opportunity for the local community, Packed Up! was produced to inspire and astound.
We started the week with two workshops; one on overcoming writers' block, the second led by our associate artist, Edie Brennan, exploring the role of voice in theatre and soundscaping. Big thanks to Edie here, who brought a range of instruments to play with!
Next was a rehearsed reading of Now & Then: I Think of You, revisited after our last performance of it in 2024 at the Etcetera Theatre. We focused on improving the sci-fi elements of the show, as well as honing in on what truly makes this mother-daughter relationship sparkle.
Finally, Oida! & Friends took to the stage, a one-night only cabaret and open mic! This featured Kent and London based artists from around the globe, focusing especially on how we could represent our queer and femme-led communities. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this!
